Breaking the Barrier Within
One of my most memorable experiences while distributing Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books was actually a very simple one. I have always been somewhat introverted, and approaching strangers is not something that comes naturally to me. During one book distribution, I noticed a person standing alone, and for quite some time I was thinking about whether I should approach him or not. Finally, I gathered some courage and went up to him with a Bhagavad-gītā. To my surprise, he did not just accept the book—he started asking questions about Krishna, the purpose of life and why we distribute these books. What I initially thought would be an awkward interaction turned into a meaningful conversation. What touched me most was realizing that the biggest obstacle that day was actually within me—my own hesitation and fear of approaching people . The experience taught me that I don't need to be extremely confident or outgoing to share Krishna consciousness. I simply need to sincerely take the first step and allow Krishna to guide the rest. It reminded me that book distribution is not simply about giving someone a book—it is about becoming an instrument to connect someone with Krishna’s message. This experience gave me more confidence and enthusiasm to step outside my comfort zone and continue distributing Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books.
