The Gītā That Waited for the Right Moment
My brother got a Bhagavad Gita As It Is as a gift because he secured 1st rank in the CA Foundation examination. However, the Bhagavad Gita was just kept aside, and no one touched it for 6 month. Later, I started reading it and completed it within one year. Then, I met a FOLK volunteer. He was going home, and we both got down from the train. He was wearing dhoti-kurta, so I immediately recognized him as a devotee. I called him, and we talked for some time. He then invited me to a Sunday session. Srila Prabhupada's books helped me get direction in my life. I was chasing so many things and thinking, "This is the aim of life" or "That is the aim of life." But I noticed that even the people who had the things I was chasing were not happy. Then I saw that those who were devotees of Krishna were always happy. After reading the Bhagavad Gita, I became fully convinced that we should live only for the service of Krishna. Only then can we become truly satisfied.
